Raphael Auphan

Raphael is the Chief Operating Officer at Proton. A seasoned tech executive and entrepreneur, he has led companies across Europe, the US, and Asia in fields ranging from privacy and deeptech to mobile software. Before joining Proton, he served as CEO of Qwant, Europe’s leading privacy-focused search engine. He has also founded or led several companies, including Cosmian (cryptography), Scilab (simulation software), and Zyken (connected health), and held senior roles at Gemplus, Thales, Extended Systems, and Viafone. Raphael holds an MSc in Computer Science and Networking from CentraleSupélec.
