Following our major knowledge and reasoning improvements with Lumo 1.1, the new Lumo 1.2 delivers on two highly requested features:
- Choose your favorite look for Lumo with dark mode
- Customize your experience by setting your preferred writing style for Lumo
As always, your chats in Lumo remain completely confidential. Any personalization options you enable retain Lumo’s zero-access encryption, meaning Lumo never keeps any logs and your chat histories are only accessible to you.

Dark mode has been one of our community’s most highly anticipated updates for Lumo. Throughout the Proton ecosystem, you can customize the look of all of your apps, and now you can customize Lumo, too, with a light or dark theme.
Customize Lumo’s writing style
Lumo already lets you integrate Proton Drive so that it’s easy to add or remove documents and PDFs from Lumo’s working memory. That’s a powerful way to give Lumo more context for your chats and get better results.
To personalize Lumo further, you can now specify your preferred writing style, tell Lumo your name, and share any other instructions you’d like Lumo to keep top of mind. Getting the answers you need in the way you want them helps you work faster and more seamlessly.
Finding the perfect voice for Lumo makes it easier to find the words you’re looking for, whether you’re writing a casual email or a formal research proposal. The traits you choose for Lumo and the information you want Lumo to remember about you can help you create the ideal AI assistant that always speaks your language.
Crucially, adding personalization doesn’t compromise your privacy: Your chats are still fully confidential and they aren’t used to train Lumo’s models. Even while you’re teaching Lumo how to speak more like you, your conversations are still private and secured with zero-access encryption(ventana nueva).
