From the start, Proton has strived to equip you with the apps and services you need to protect your privacy and defend your freedom online. But there’s one tool that can’t be measured in data encrypted or trackers blocked — and that’s information itself.
With that fact squarely in mind, today we are proud to announce a new Proton YouTube channel(ventana nueva), which extends our mission well beyond the services we build and the constraints of our own website.
“The goal of this channel,” said Proton CEO and founder Andy Yen, “is to tell the important stories in tech nobody else is talking about, because it’s inconvenient or doesn’t fit the narrative we’ve been told to believe.”
Today we are featuring two documentaries and a handful of Shorts, but we’re just getting started.
In the weeks and months ahead, you’ll hear from expert voices who can cut through the noise about the threats we all face, from intrusive ads and tracking, to snooping and censoring authorities, to the suppression of ideas and competition. But you’ll also hear from ordinary people, who confront the same issues and ask the same questions as you do. And as we share all these stories, we hope to keep it simple, without ever dumbing it down.
The new Proton channel is a complement to our existing YouTube channel, Proton Guides & Updates(ventana nueva), which will continue to highlight news and tips about the products we provide and how to use them.
Here’s what’s waiting for you over on YouTube:

Putting the power in your hands
We’re more plugged in today than we’ve ever been — and while that brings great promise, it also means great challenges. Someone’s always after something, from our dollars to our data. But we don’t have to roll over. We can choose another way.
In over a decade of protecting people’s privacy and freedom online, we’ve learned a few things. Our community of millions has guided our every step, and our nonprofit foundation keeps us honest.
Now it’s time to take our mission further into the mainstream and give even more people the knowledge they need navigate today’s digital dangers. We hope you’ll join us and subscribe(ventana nueva).
