Creating spreadsheets in Proton Sheets
You can create new spreadsheets from Proton Drive using Sheets. All your spreadsheets are end-to-end encrypted by default, so no one but you and your collaborators can access them — not even Proton.
Create a new spreadsheet
There are several ways to create a new spreadsheet:
- Log in to your Proton Drive account(new window), then click New → New spreadsheet.
- Go to your Proton Docs dashboard(new window) and click New spreadsheet.
- If you’re already in a spreadsheet, click its name at the top and select New spreadsheet.
It will open a blank spreadsheet in a new tab.

To change the default name, click it in the top-left corner and type a new name.

Add new sheets to a spreadsheet
Each spreadsheet in Proton Sheets can contain multiple sheets (tabs). These tabs let you organize related data within a single file while keeping everything easy to access in one place. For example, you can use multiple sheets to:
- Separate data logically (e.g, budgets by month or project).
- Keep calculations and raw data on different sheets.
- Collaborate with teammates on different sections without clutter.
To add a new sheet, click the + icon at the bottom of your spreadsheet.
