Most password managers focus on organizing, well, passwords. But at Proton Pass, we know your digital life is so much more than login details. From passport numbers and bank account details to emergency contacts and recovery phrases, the information you need to navigate your life — both online and offline — goes far beyond usernames and passwords.
That’s why we’re delighted to announce that you can use Proton Pass to securely store any type of personal information with new item templates and customizable item creation. This makes Proton Pass more than your password manager — it’s your everything manager.
Secure the information you need the most – in any format
When you use Proton Pass, you create items like passwords and credit cards. We’ve now expanded the flexibility of what types of items you can create in Proton Pass.
You can choose from 14 new item types, including medical records, WiFi settings, and driver’s licenses, or create your own fully customizable item if you need something unique. You can choose and name as many fields and sections as you need. Once created, you can share and pin these custom items or view their version history, just like with standard items. If you can’t fit information into a custom item, you can load the create a file attachment for any type of file — up to 10 GB.
End-to-end encryption protects everything in your account so you can streamline your digital life without compromising your security. Proton’s secure sharing methods make it easy to share your items with anyone, even if they don’t use Proton Pass. You still benefit from end-to-end encryption, no matter who your recipient is.
What data would you keep securely within reach?
We wanted to make Proton Pass flexible enough to handle all the different types of data and information you deal with on a day-to-day basis. You’re no longer limited to predefined templates or fixed entry criteria. Instead, you can create your own secure records that are designed to fit the shape of your life.
With Proton Pass’s flexible item management, you can store the information you need in one encrypted place, saving custom items like:
- Your family’s emergency plan and contact details
- Security questions and recovery phrases
- Your Bitcoin wallet logins
- Passport details for your next trip
