Why choose Proton Pass?

Privacy on the internet is getting harder to maintain, but we choose to offer products that help you take control of yours. Proton Pass never sells your data for ads, or tracks your online activity, and your passwords are accessible only to you. We believe in privacy by default: that your data should belong only to you. Proton was founded in 2014 by scientists who met at CERN on that principle, and it’s still our guiding principle today.

Since 2014, we’ve been holding ourselves to a higher standard than Big Tech. Our non-profit foundation, The Proton Foundation, is our primary shareholder. That means that the business’s priority will never deviate from building a more private internet.

Our end-to-end encrypted password manager is open source and independently audited, making it more private than most other password managers on the market. Our apps are trusted by the United Nations, who have recommended Proton as a way to share highly sensitive data.

Pass is designed for users with all levels of tech experience: it’s easy for anyone to share passwords securely and stay protected. You can store unlimited logins, notes, and items, autofilling password fields for faster browsing. By creating Identities, you can store data such as your name, address, and birth date in one place so that it’s easily accessible for autofilling as you check out: it’s stored in your private vault, where no-one can access it but you.

So, if you’re looking for a password manager that’s secure, easy to use, and truly private, then it’s time to switch to Proton Pass.
