How to claim student discount on Proton products
Starting Thursday, September 26, 2024, all students from the US, UK, France, and Germany can easily apply for discounts on Proton Mail Plus, Proton VPN Plus, Proton Drive Plus, Proton Unlimited, or a free year of Proton Pass Plus.
Who is eligible?
Through our partner Student Beans, we’re offering the chance for students in the US, UK, France and Germany to receive exclusive discounts on their chosen Proton plan. Any student in any country in a high school, college, university, or graduate school program who has documentation proving their student status can take advantage of this offer.
What documentation is accepted?
To prove that you’re a student when you’re applying through Student Beans, you’ll need to verify that you’re currently studying. You can verify your student identity by going through the Student Beans application process and logging into your learning portal, using your student email, or submitting a document. Acceptable documents should:
- Be issued by your educational institution
- Show your full name
- Show the name of your institution
- Be valid for your current year of study
Student Beans can’t accept NUS or ISIC cards as valid forms of ID.
What discounts are available?
Through Student Beans, you can apply for:
- Proton Pass Plus free for a maximum of two years if you refer two friends
- Proton VPN Plus(yeni pencere) 50% off ($2.49/m) for 12 months
- Proton Mail Plus 80% off ($1/m) for 1 month
- Proton Drive Plus 50% off ($1.99/m)for 12 months
- Proton Unlimited (includes all plans listed above) 50% off ($4.99) for 12 months
Please note that you can get an additional year of Proton Pass Plus for free by referring two friends. All other plans will be offered on a one-time purchase basis.
How to apply
- Choose your Proton plan on the Student Beans portal (you’ll need to create an account)
- Verify that you’re a student with the Student Beans team using one of the forms of proof listed on the Student Beans website.
- You’ll then be redirected to our checkout page and be able to purchase your plan with the discount already applied
How to renew your free subscription for Pass Plus
We’re offering an additional year of Pass Plus for free if you refer two friends.
To apply:
- Reach out to our customer service team, cc’ing the two friends you’d like to refer. Use the subject line: Pass student discount, and make sure to use your friends’ student email addresses. To be eligible, your friends must:
- Be a current student
- Be new to Proton (have no existing account with us)
- Not have taken advantage of the Proton promotion offered through Student Beans
- We’ll reach out to your friends to verify their current student status and eligibility
- When our team has verified their identities, you’ll both be offered a year of Pass Plus free.
