IP allowlisting (sometimes known as IP whitelisting) is a security measure used to control access to a network or service by only allowing specific IP addresses (or a range of IP addresses) to connect to it.

With Proton VPN Professional or Proton Workspace, you can rent dedicated servers(新視窗) with fixed IP addresses and set up Gateways(新視窗) to group these servers and control who can access them. You can then allowlist the Gateways’ IP addresses to secure access to your organization’s IT resources.

Because you have granular control over user access to your Gateways(新視窗), this ensures that your IT resources can only be accessed by authorized personnel.

How to allowlist your dedicated servers

1. Subscribe(新視窗) to a Proton VPN Professional or Proton Workspace plan.

2. Add one or more dedicated servers(新視窗) to your plan and sort them into Gateways.

3. Sign in to each service you want to secure access to, enable IP allowlisting, and add the IP addresses of your dedicated servers to the allowlist.

Once that’s done, nobody will be able to access the services you’ve configured unless they’re connected to an authorized dedicated server.
