There are multiple ways to share a document and invite collaborators in Docs. This article explains each method.

From your Proton Drive account

When the file already exists in your My files, you can click on the menu option and select Share.

You can now add your collaborators’ email addresses and assign them Viewer or Editor permissions. Viewer permission grants the ability to read documents only. Editor permission grants the ability to modify documents.

From within a document

You can also share a document from within the document itself.

First, click on the Share icon in the top right.

Next, you’ll be able to add your collaborators’ email addresses and assign Viewer or Editor permissions.

Sharing via a public link

To make a document accessible to a wider audience, you can create a public link. This allows anyone with access to the link to view the document. 

Open Proton Drive and find the document you want to share.

  1. Open the document and click Share.
  2. Switch on the toggle in the Create public link section to enable public sharing.
  3. Copy the generated link and share the copied link with your intended recipients. Anyone with access to this link will be able to view your document.
