How the Proton referral program works

Step 1

Get link

Open the Proton web app and go to account.proton.me/referral to find your referral link.

Step 2

Send invites

Share the link with anybody who doesn’t already use Proton. They can try certain paid plans* for free for two weeks and get $20 off their next subscription. They don’t even need a credit card to sign up for free trials.

Step 3

Earn rewards

You’ll earn $20 in Proton credits for each friend who signs up for any paid plan. You can track how many friends subscribed using your link. Earn up to $1,000 in credit.

*Applicable for select Proton Plus plans only.

Who is eligible to make a referral?: The program is open to all Proton community members (including those on Proton Free and Pass Lifetime, but excluding Proton for Business plans), with no arrears on their account.
Who is eligible to get a referral link?: Anyone who doesn’t already have a Proton Account is eligible to get a two-week free trial of select Proton Plus plans and $20 off their next subscription if they sign up using a referral link.
What plans and services are part of the referral program?: The referral program offers reward credits of $20 on individual paid plans for most Proton services, including:
Proton Mail Plus
Proton Drive Plus
Proton Pass Plus
Proton VPN Plus*
Proton Unlimited*
*Note that while you can refer friends to sign up for Proton VPN and Unlimited paid plans, these plans are not available for free trials.
