How to clear your cache and cookies

Browsers try to speed up your web browsing experience by saving images and other web page data that it thinks is unlikely to change between visits.

Cookies are small files that websites leave on your computer. They often perform useful functions such as knowing that you visited the site before and remembering your preferences for that site, but can also be used to track visitors access web sites.

Cookies and cached data can sometimes cause issues when using Proton Mail (for example, if outdated data gets pulled from the cache instead of from an updated web page).

This can often be fixed by clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.

Just close your window and start a new browser session. The Tor browser doesn’t retain cookies, caches, or other site data across sessions.
