Can I share a Proton Drive account with someone else?

For security reasons, we do not recommend sharing an account with others.

If you want to share files with someone, you can create and send a sharable link.

If you want to receive a file from someone else, you can send them a link to the folder you’d like them to upload files to and grant them the right to edit.

If you want to share files and storage space as part of a team or group, consider:

• Proton Drive for Business(nouvelle fenêtre) if you use Proton Drive for work.
• Proton Duo or Proton Family(nouvelle fenêtre) if Proton Drive is for personal use.

Note: Proton Duo, Proton Family, Visionary, and Proton Drive for Business let you share or combine storage across multiple accounts. They don’t give members access to each other’s files. Each user’s Drive stays a separate, independently encrypted account, just like any other Proton account.
