자물쇠 아이콘을 사용하여 암호화 상태를 확인하는 방법

Proton Mail의 모든 메시지에는 암호화 상태를 알려주는 자물쇠 아이콘이 표시되어 있습니다. 이 문서에서는 각 아이콘이 무엇을 의미하는지 설명해 드립니다.

자물쇠 아이콘은 받은 편지함 및 사용자 정의 폴더의 모든 이메일 옆에 표시됩니다.

수신 및 발신된 이메일의 암호화 상태는 메시지가 전송될 때 어떻게 암호화되었는지를 보여주며 변경할 수 없습니다.

자물쇠 아이콘은 작성기 창에도 표시되며 이메일을 보내는 방식에 따라 변경될 수 있습니다. 예를 들어, Proton 외부로 전송되는 이메일을 비밀번호로 보호하는 경우 자물쇠는 검은색(PGP 서명이 첨부된 경우 초록색(열림))에서 파란색으로 변경됩니다.

자물쇠 아이콘의 의미

메시지의 암호화 상태를 나타내는 주된 지표는 자물쇠 아이콘의 색상입니다. 자물쇠 내부의 작은 기호가 추가 정보를 제공합니다. 암호화는 메시지 내용과 첨부 파일에만 적용된다는 점에 유의하시기 바랍니다. 메시지 헤더 및 메타데이터는 Proton Mail이 PGP와 상호 운용될 수 있도록 암호화되지 않습니다.

검은색 자물쇠

검은색 자물쇠는 메시지가 제로 액세스 암호화(zero-access encryption)되어 저장됨을 의미합니다. 즉, 귀하의 메일함에 있는 이 이메일은 귀하 외에 다른 누구도 읽을 수 없음을 의미합니다. Proton Mail조차 이 메시지를 복호화할 수 없습니다. 하지만 이 이메일의 사본은 보낸 사람 또는 수신인의 이메일 서버에 안전하지 않은 상태로 저장되어 있을 수 있습니다.

파란색 자물쇠

	Standard — End-to-end encrypted message
	Checkmark — End-to-end encrypted message with verified recipient/sender. This lock is used for the contacts for whom you enabled the optional Address Verification feature. Address verification and end-to-end encryption allow for a much higher level of security than just E2EE alone.
	Warning — This lock can appear if you enabled the optional Address Verification feature. It means the message could not be verified using the sender’s trusted key. Contact the sender to confirm the authenticity of the message. It can also mean that the contact’s key or signature is insecure. In this case, please ask them to update their key or software.

	Checkmark — PGP end-to-end encrypted message with verified recipient/sender. This is the most secure way to email someone who doesn’t use Proton Mail.
	Warning — PGP end-to-end encrypted message, but the sender’s email or key couldn’t be verified. If you see this warning, you may wish to contact the sender to confirm the authenticity of the message. It can also mean that the contact’s key or signature is insecure. In this case, please ask them to update their key or software.

초록색 자물쇠(열림)

열린 초록색 자물쇠는 메시지가 PGP를 사용하여 종단 간 암호화되지는 않았지만, PGP 서명으로 디지털 서명되었음을 보여줍니다. 다른 모든 이메일과 마찬가지로 이 이메일 역시 제로 액세스 암호화를 사용하여 당사 서버에 저장됩니다.
