Using the Proton Meet web app

With the Proton Meet web app, you can join, host, and schedule secure video calls directly from your browser, without installing any apps.
Proton Meet is also available on desktop and mobile platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS). For the best experience, we recommend downloading Proton Meet on your devices.

Access Proton Meet from your browser
Proton Meet works on most modern browsers, including:
- Mozilla Firefox
- Google Chrome
- Microsoft Edge
- Brave
For the best experience, keep your browser up to date and allow microphone, camera, and screen-sharing permissions when prompted.
To open the Proton Meet web app, go to meet.proton.me(nouvelle fenêtre).
Using the web app
To use most Proton Meet features, you’ll need to sign in to your Proton Account at account.proton.me/signin.
Once signed in, you’ll see the dashboard(nouvelle fenêtre).

From here you can:
Start a call
- Click Create meeting, then select an option from the menu:

- Create a room: Generate a personal meeting space you can reuse anytime with the same link. How to use meeting rooms

Join a meeting
Select Join via link to enter a meeting using a Proton Meet link.

View and manage scheduled meetings
Go to My meetings to see upcoming calls.
- To enter a meeting, click Join
- To copy and share a meeting link with participants, click Copy 📋
- To change a meeting’s display name, click Edit ✏️
- To remove a meeting from your agenda, click Delete 🗑️

View and create meeting rooms
In My rooms, you’ll find your personal meeting room and any rooms you’ve created.
- Your personal meeting room is always available. You can Join, Copy 📋 the link, or Edit ✎ its URL.
- For existing rooms, you can Join, Copy 📋 the link, Edit ✎ the name, or Delete 🗑️ the room.
- Click Create new room to set up a new reusable meeting space for your team or clients.
You can also search for meetings and sort them by upcoming or newly created to find what you need quickly.

Joining a meeting
Before you connect to (or start) a call, you have the option to:
- Edit your display name
- Ask Proton Meet to remember your name on the current device so it’s automatically filled in future meetings
- Enable your microphone and camera and select which audio and video devices they should use
- Enable background blur
- Disable noise cancellation (on by default)

When you’re ready, click Start meeting.
Call features and settings
Once you’re connected to a Proton Meet call, you have access to a range of settings and videoconferencing features.
Main controls
- Video controls: Click Camera 📷 to turn video camera on or off. Click the chevron ⬇️ to manage your video device.
- Audio controls: Click Microphone 🎙️ to turn your mic on or off. Click the chevron ⬇️ to manage your audio device. How to use camera and microphone
- Screen sharing: Click Share screen 🖥️ to present. How screen sharing works
- Meeting chat: Click Chat 💬 to view and send live messages. How chat works

- Reactions: Click Emoji 🙂 to react in real time during the meeting.
- Record meeting: Click Record ⏺️ to start recording the call. How recording works
- Exit call: Click Leave to exit the meeting room. Hosts have the option to just leave the meeting or end it for everyone.
- View participants: Select Participants 👥 to see all attendees. If you’re hosting, you can also moderate the meeting here.

Additional settings
For more controls, click Settings ⚙️. From the settings panel, you can:
- Lock meeting (hosts only): Prevents new participants from joining once the meeting has started.
- Background blur: Softens everything behind you while keeping you in focus.
- Turn off incoming video: Hides other participant’s video feeds. This may reduce bandwidth usage.
- Hide self: Stops you from seeing your own your own video feed, while keeping your camera on for other participants.
- Picture-in-picture mode: When you switch to another tab, your Proton Meet call will remain visible in a small floating window (enabled by default).
- Noise cancellation: Reduces background sounds like typing, fans, or traffic (enabled by default).

Using camera and microphone effects on macOS
On macOS, you may see additional camera and microphone controls in the system menu bar (green camera icon) while using Proton Meet.
From there, you can access features like Studio Light, Reactions, or apply a background effect or image, as well as adjust microphone modes (such as voice isolation) using your system settings (for example, FaceTime HD Camera).

These controls are managed by macOS, not Proton Meet, and may vary depending on your device.
