In this guide, we show you how to fix an IMAP Login failed error on Proton Mail Bridge.
Why am I seeing this error?
You’ll see this error when your email client attempts to connect to the Proton Mail Bridge app using the IMAP protocol(new window), but you’re not signed in to the app. This can happen for two reasons:
- You signed out of the Bridge app manually by clicking on the Sign Out button
- You were automatically signed out due to a technical problem
How do I fix the issue?
To fix the problem, simply click Sign in on the Proton Mail Bridge app.
Your email client may now ask you to enter your IMAP password. You can find this in the Bridge app once you’ve signed in, under Mailbox details → IMAP → Password.
