End-to-end encryption for your privacy
Emails sent between Proton users or to recipients whose providers support PGP are end-to-end encrypted, including message content and attachments, so only you and your recipient can read them (not even Proton). When emailing outside Proton, you can add password protection to keep your message private. Otherwise, emails are encrypted in transit but may still be accessed by the recipient’s email provider (such as Gmail, Outlook, or Yahoo) and processed according to their policies.
