How to buy BTC at any Swiss train station
The following steps describe how to buy BTC using the SBB ticket machines in Swiss train stations:
- Locate a Swiss train station that has a ticket vending machine, as these stations offer Bitcoin purchases.
- Press the Other tickets and offers red button located in the bottom right corner.
- Press the Prepaid / Money transfers on the left side, then the Bitcoin Paper Wallet on the right side.
A paper wallet is a physical paper that contains a private key and public address, allowing individuals to store funds offline securely.
- Choose the amount of Bitcoin you want to purchase. You must also enter a valid Swiss phone number.
- The machine only accepts cash or debit cards for payment.
- The machine will print a paper wallet containing a public address and a QR code for the private key at the bottom.
Once you have a paper wallet, you can import it into Proton Wallet.
