Proton Drive mobile apps let you conveniently and securely share your files and folders from your iPhone/iPad or Android phone or tablet.

This article explains how to create, copy, and share a link to your file or folder. It also shows you how to set a password or expiration date for extra protection and how to stop sharing a file or folder.

iPhone or iPad (iOS/iPadOS)

On iOS and iPadOS, you can share a file with a sharing link, or by sending an email invite.

1. Open the Proton Drive app. In My files, find the file or folder you want to share and tap the vertical ellipsis (three dots ⋮) icon.

2. Select Share from the menu.

3. Under Sharing options, enable the Anyone with the link toggle.

4. By default, recipients get view-only access to your file. To give them editing permissions, tap Can view, then select Can edit from the menu.

5. Your sharing link is created. Tap Copy link to copy it to your clipboard and share with others.

Remember, anyone with this link will have access to the file or folder you’ve shared.

Add a password and expiration date

Once you’ve created a sharing link, you can add password-protection and an expiration date. We’ve written a dedicated guide explaining how to do this.
