With our end-of-year sale, you can stay secure and protect your privacy, while also taking advantage of significant savings not offered any other time of year. 

This year we’re offering discounts on our Plus plans for the best experience on your favorite Proton app, multi-user plans to keep your loved ones safe, or Proton Unlimited to get the best of everything we have to offer.

How to purchase a discounted plan

If you’re new to Proton

If you’re new to Proton, you can either get an offer directly on our website:

• Proton Pass(new window) offers will be available in the coming days.

You can also create an account and get the deal in our web apps using your browser, as explained below.

If you’re already using Proton

You can upgrade your existing subscription by signing in to your account at Proton Mail(new window), Proton Calendar(new window), Proton Drive(new window), or Proton VPN. Proton Pass offers will be coming soon.

Once you’ve signed in, click the Black Friday button at the top right of the window. You can then select a plan and proceed to the checkout.

You may also take advantage of our offers in the Drive or VPN desktop apps.

From promotional emails

Depending on your communication preferences, you may also receive our offers via email. Select a plan in the email to visit our online checkout, where you can enter a payment method and upgrade.

Who can benefit from our end-of-year promotion?

Anyone who is new to Proton or has a Free plan can take advantage of any of our end-of-year deals. 

Some of our deals are also available if you already have a proton subscription. To view which offers you can purchase, simply sign in to account.proton.me and click the Black Friday button.

Please note that you are not eligible for these offers if:

• You canceled an existing subscription a month or less before the promotion started
• You have a Drive Lite, Family, Visionary plan, or any plan for business
• You have paid for your plan via the App Store or Play Store

Can I get a deal this year if I got one last year?

Yes, but the new plan must be an upgrade from the plan you purchased as part of last year’s Black Friday or end-of-year promotion.

For example, if you purchased a Mail Plus plan during one of our offers in 2023, you can only purchase a Proton Unlimited, Duo, or Family plan as part of this year’s end-of-year promotion.

Payment options

You can pay for your subscription using a credit or debit card, PayPal, or Bitcoin.

As our promotions are time-sensitive, we do not recommend paying via Bank Transfer or cash, as these types of payments take a longer time to process. 

How the discounts are calculated

Discounts are calculated against our standard monthly price. For example, a Proton Unlimited plan is normally $12.99/month. The one-year Proton Unlimited deal is $6.49/month, or 50% off.

When will my subscription start?

If you didn’t previously have an account, were on a free plan, or are upgrading from a lower-tier plan, your subscription will start immediately when we receive payment. We will apply prorated credit from your existing subscription to your Proton Account.

If you are upgrading to a longer-duration Proton VPN Plus plan (from monthly to annual), you will be charged the full price of the offer at checkout and your subscription renewal date will be extended for an additional 12 months.

What happens when my plan runs out? What price will my plan renew at?

If you subscribe to a Proton Mail, Drive, or VPN offer, your plan will renew at the standard discounted price, for the same duration. Note that 24-month and 12-month VPN Plus subscriptions renew on a 12-month cycle.

Here are some of the current renewal prices:

• A one-month Mail Plus subscription renews at $4.99.
• A one-month Drive Plus subscription renews at $4.99.
• A one-month VPN Plus subscription renews at $9.99.
• A one-year Mail Plus subscription renews at $47.88.
• A one-year Drive Plus subscription renews at $47.88.
• A one-year or two-year VPN Plus subscription renews at $79.95.
• A one-year Proton Unlimited subscription renews at a discounted annual price of $119.88.
• A one-year Proton Duo subscription renews at $179.88.
• A one-year Proton Family subscription renews at $287.88.

Note that prices are the same in US dollars, euros, and Swiss francs. Your plan will renew in the currency you first paid with.

When does the end-of-year sale end?
